We know the value of a healthy smile and do our best to make sure yours lasts a lifetime.
Fillings are most commonly used in order to prevent further damage to a tooth when decay is present. By removing the bacteria and closing off the affected area, further decay is halted.
Here at Beggarwood we offer options for fillings, on the NHS and privately. The dentist will give an honest and professional opinion on what they think would be best suited for each patient based on individual cases and circumstances and discuss this with you. You will be treated with the utmost care and consideration no matter how big or small the treatment is.
We know the value of a healthy smile and we do our best to make sure yours lasts a lifetime.
If a tooth is decayed or damaged and cannot be repaired with a filling or crown then the dentist may advise removal of the tooth. This decision is never an easy one to make and the dentist will only make this decision as a last resort. However, we will talk you through all of the possible options before any decision is made about extracting teeth. We like to ensure all our patients are happy and understand what treatment is being proposed.
We also undertake extractions for orthodontic purposes, if the orthodontist has requested the removal of teeth before any braces work can be fitted.
If the dentist finds that an extraction within the general practice setting would not be suitable, the reason will be discussed and agreed with you before we will send a referral off for this to be done.
If an infected tooth is left untreated for too long, pain can increase dramatically and lead to an abscess around the infected tooth.
The aim of root canal treatment is to prevent teeth from being extracted. Usually this can be undertaken in general practice, however in some cases if the tooth anatomy appears complex, we can refer you to a specialist endodontist.
This is usually on a private basis. Rest assured we aim to work with all of our patients in order to ensure you receive the best possible care and outcome.
Good dental hygiene includes fluoride treatments, gum care, digital X-rays, flossing and interdental cleaning.
Our two kind and caring hygienists here at Beggarwood are Tom and Glendale. Both offer a professional teeth cleaning and oral health service, that range from a general clean and polish for stain removal and tartar build up to a more extensive treatment for gum related issues such as gingivitis or periodontitis.
They tailor each appointment to suit every patient’s individual needs and can demonstrate techniques to help you at home. They work closely with our dentists to ensure you get the very best comprehensive care for your oral health.
