Anusha established Beggarwood Dental Surgery in 2005 and it has grown and continues to develop as a thriving business ever since, which is testament to her kind and caring approach with both patients and her team. She went on to set up a second dental practice, Hedge End Dental Surgery in Southampton in 2011 and as they say, the rest is history. Anusha qualified at the University of Witwatersrand in 1999, before starting her career in Dentistry in the UK. Anusha developed a passion for implant dentistry and as a result achieved her Master’s degree in Advanced Dental Implantology in 2023 from Aston University, and has now started to offer this service at the practice. Most recently, she has also been made a fellow of the College of General Dentistry and is also a Project Supervisor for students on the current Master’s course at Aston University. Anusha enjoys bringing out the best in others, encouraging lifelong learning and development in the team. She is always eager to keep abreast of the latest developments in techniques, materials, and treatment modalities in dentistry by networking, reading and attending courses. Outside of the world of dentistry Anusha enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, practising martial arts and reading.

Emily graduated from the University of Dundee in 2016 before starting her journey with the team at Beggarwood in 2017. Emily enjoys a variety of general dentistry but most importantly feels that making patients’ visits to the dentist a positive experience for them is of upmost importance and something she values highly. Emily knows how to keep the nurses onside, supplying them with regular cups of tea and naughty snacks. Outside of work Emily is kept busy with her young son and enjoys spending time with her husband and holidaying with her family. 

Nita joined our team here in Beggarwood in 2021 and seamlessly became part of the working family. She completed her dental degree in Nepal in 2013. She has a calm and endearing nature and is softly spoken which makes her popular with our more nervous adults and children in her care. Nita enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but especially enjoys restorative dentistry focusing on minimally invasive techniques. Having also recently returned to work from maternity leave, she settled straight back in as if she’d never been away. Outside of work Nita enjoys spending time with her two young sons who keep her on her toes, as well as spending time with her husband.

Rupa began her role at the practice as a trainee locum dental nurse, initially only to cover maternity leave and 16 years later (as of 2024), she has, in her own words, “had an amazing journey”, being instrumental in the growth and development of the practice. She enjoys several aspects of dentistry and has developed her nursing skills to include a qualification in Dental Radiography, dental impression taking, and more recently, dental implant training. Rupa is the Lead Dental Nurse in the practice and continues to be a focal point of contact for patients and the team. When she is not busy with dentistry, she is often seen out and about with her young and energetic son.

Danielle qualified as a dental nurse in 2012 and she has a very precise and methodical nature as she resourcefully ensures work behind the scenes is completed. This nature of hers shone during the recent pandemic when she put together a complete manual, time - lining the events and new dental protocols as they evolved. She is a calming presence in surgery but also has an infectious laugh which makes her a popular member of the team. She recently became a mum for to her second beautiful little daughter and we look forward to having her back in the practice when she is ready to return. She enjoys keeping fit outside of work, not forgetting the lunchtime walks she persuaded us all to join her in.

Glendale joined our team here at Beggarwood in 2017. She qualified from Kings college in London back in 2012. Glendale is extremely kind and caring and has a soft approach with her patients putting the most nervous at ease in her care. She is passionate about her role in improving patients’ gum health and thereby contributing their overall health. Outside of the practice she has two beautiful daughters and enjoys holidaying with her family as well as keeping fit. It’s always a happy day when Glendale is in and her infectious smile helps to brighten up the team’s day.

Manisha has joined our team in March 2024, as our Dental Therapist. She helps to plan and carry out a range of treatments to help patients with their individual oral health needs.  Manisha naturally creates a friendly environment where patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their treatments. She is a huge advocate of raising awareness about the importance of good oral health alongside providing patient centred care. Manisha invests herself in continuing additional training to treat varied dental needs in young children. Manisha enjoys travelling and spending time with her family in her spare time.

Wendy joined our Beggarwood team in February 2022. She contributes many years’ worth of experience in dentistry, covering various areas outside of the clinical environment. Notably, she has previously worked as a practice manager before deciding to focus her strengths on front of house as our receptionist, although I’m sure she would agree it is no less stressful. Wendy has been a welcome addition to our team as, reassuringly for our patients, she leaves no appointments unfilled. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.
